I have 6 extra of these Cinnamon Cream Cheese King Cake slices available for $5 each for a 4 oz portion baked this morning. The catch is you have to pick it up by 6:30 pm today.
For those unfamiliar, this New Orleans favorite is best baked with high humidity β
and it was 79% when I started these at 5am. The slices are best the same day, but can be refreshed in the microwave for 10 seconds .
Who wants to grab them before 6:30? Updated: SOLD OUT! Thank you.

Happy Anniversary to me. π
Can you guys believe it's been 6 years since I started Missy's?! Boy have things changed! My first pop up included a variety of items including Biscotti, Carrot Cakes, cupcakes, and caramel corn. Oh, and who remembers the Beignet pick up days with the orange cone signaling another batch coming out hot? π€£β€οΈ
Over the years things changed to a way that's better suited for my customers and my home life. Thanks to all of you who stick around to see what's baking. π«Άπ

I dare to say there's more to life than social media. π€ Stick with me on this one.
Even if I don't include the personal side of my life, there's planning for orders, communicating with customers & vendors, writing cake contracts, purchasing supplies, as well as time devoted to creating the designs for custom orders. IYKYK
Some weeks I just can't post as much as is expected by those that circulate my content. When views are this far down, I know most of you won't even see this. But I'm not a content creator, I'm just a baker. π€·
So all this to say, I hope you'll stick around to see what's in the works each week and will do my best to keep it interesting. π

A trip down South...
I got out just before the storm, but am set to travel again today. π€·
Moms checkups went great. My Godchild (Lilly) made us dinner π and we celebrated my younger brother's birthday π₯³ with a store bought cake. π€ The kiddos said it was one of his favorites, and really there was no time for baking.
On my way out I spotted this momma duck getting her ducklings swim-ready. The street flooding rolled in like a parade down Canal Street. βοΈβοΈ Prayers for those that got damage from the storm.

Remember that mountain of ingredients? Here's what it became.
Congratulations...Kaylee and Andy Scott! ππππππππππππππ π
I can't thank this sweet family enough for choosing me to be a small part of the wedding celebration.
Joie provided the gorgeous flowers and Hannah and her team @ SomethingBorrowedEventCompany ensured everything ran smoothly. It was fun hearing the band warming up as I decorated too. πΆ
Here's a toast to the newlyweds...may you have many happy years together. π₯

A little glimpse of why I've been quiet lately...
This is just a small part of the planning for a tiered cake I was focused on for this past weekend. It's a whole lotta batches portioned out right there. Throw in a busy week of travel βοΈ and my social media has been stashed on the back burner. π€·
So stick with me and I'll post photos soon. π

Road trip! π
When the supplies needed for an order created this road trip, I had no idea I was in for such a treat! Apparently there are Deer π¦ a short distance Northwest of us. I saw Longhorn cattle, donkeys, horses, and goats too.π
I know this may be a regular day for some, but it was a treat for this city girl.
Thanks to Selina at "Sweet Expressions by a Brit" in Northlake for helping out a fellow baker.

A little sun and it's alright. βοΈ
After a stormy night, it's nice to see the rays. Turn up the volume just a tad for a relaxing minute. I took the video to show my mom the turtle and thought you all might like a little zen. β² I know I do.
Don't mind my garden, it needs some attention and I haven't been up for it. π«£βΊοΈ

Is it about sprinkles or no? π©
Where I'm from it's all about the powdered sugar. You know what I'm saying?
It's National Donut Day which started by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor volunteers serving the fried treats to soldiers in the front lines. πͺβ€οΈπ€π
