"Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy. Memorial Day isn’t just a long weekend—it’s a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of those who served our country and never came home. From all of us at J & M BBQ, we humbly say thank you. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten."
As you enjoy your day, please take a moment to remember why we celebrate Memorial Day. It's not about sales or BBQ (though we're grateful to serve you)—it's about honoring the heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Let’s keep their memory alive by living with gratitude and purpose.

As we fire up the pits and gather with friends and family, let’s not forget the true meaning of Memorial Day. It’s not just a long weekend—it’s a solemn day of remembrance. A day to honor the courageous souls who laid down their lives so we could live ours in freedom. At J & M BBQ, we remember that behind every flag is a story of sacrifice, bravery, and love of country. We celebrate today because others were willing to give everything. Let’s carry that gratitude in our hearts, not just today, but every day.

TEXAS FOOD TRUCK FAM — THIS IS HUGE.
Tomorrow, we’re heading to Capitol Hill to testify for something that could change the game for ALL of us:
HB 2844 — The Food Truck Freedom Bill
(AKA: the “Let Us Cook in Peace” bill… okay, not officially, but you get the vibe.)
What’s the problem?
Right now, every Texas city has different permits, inspections, and fees.
It’s expensive. Confusing. Time-consuming.
Some of us have to pay hundreds of dollars and wait weeks just to serve in a new city.
What HB 2844 would do:
• ONE statewide permit that covers fire, health & business
• $150 cap on permit fees
• Uniform rules across all of Texas
• Limits local overreach (no more crazy extra requirements)
• Faster appeals if you’re unfairly denied
This bill helps us move freely, cook legally, and GROW our businesses without a mountain of red tape.
⸻
BUT HERE’S THE THING:
You don’t have to own a food truck to care about this.
Maybe one day you’ll want to start one — or maybe your bestie, cousin, or kid will.
This bill protects the future of mobile food businesses in Texas.
Whether you’re behind the grill, placing the order, or dreaming up your truck name — this affects YOU.
⸻
CALL TO ACTION:
Submit your support for HB 2844 — it takes 30 seconds.
Just say “Support HB 2844” and you’re done.
Then share this post with your crew. Text it. Repost it. Screenshot it.
Let’s flood the system with support.
We’re showing up at the Capitol — but we need your voices behind us.
Let’s get this passed TOGETHER.
The link to show your support will be in the comments. Help us, and help you by spreading the word.
