Today I was inducted into Les Dames d'Escoffier Dallas chapter. I was a recipient of their scholarship a few years ago for Pastry arts. Thanks to them, I completed my associates and today was like a dream come true to join this amazing group of hard working women. I know I have to thank Chef Jennifer Bajsel, my friend and my dear sweet mentor Chef Brown. It was a bittersweet moment for me as I felt her absence bitterly today. I wish the world could have had more time with her. I feel like there was so much more we all could have learned from her. God willing (inshallah), I hope to see her kids and continue her legacy. Thank you to all the chefs and hospitality folk who have supported me and guided me along the way. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Never give up on your dreams.
