🍽️ WILLOW BEND IS CHANGING, BUT TWO OF ITS RESTAURANTS AREN’T GOING ANYWHERE
As demolition and redevelopment reshape The Shops at Willow Bend, Knife Steakhouse and Mexican Bar Company are staying put — with long-term leases and plans to remain through whatever comes next.
🍴 Both restaurants opened in 2018
📝 20-year leases keep them at the property for 12+ more years
🏗️ More than 500,000 square feet of the former mall is being demolished
🏙️ The property is being redeveloped as The Bend
🏒 A proposed Dallas Stars arena could transform the 107-acre site
🗳️ Plano voters will weigh in on arena funding Nov. 3
The restaurant owners have weathered changing ownership, multiple management companies, COVID shutdowns and years of uncertainty. Now, they're betting the redevelopment could finally bring the visibility and activity they've been waiting for.
“We see ourselves as two anchors for the property,” Mexican Bar Company President and Founder Brian Dunne told Local Profile. “We see ourselves as a gateway to the future of the property.”

To reach the destination at W Park Boulevard in Plano, one can take public transport by boarding a bus that stops near the intersection of W Park Boulevard and Coit Road. Alight at this stop and walk towards the west on W Park Boulevard for approximately 0.2 miles to reach the destination.
Alternatively, if driving, you can reach the destination by taking the Dallas North Tollway and exiting onto West Park Boulevard. Continue heading east on West Park Boulevard for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Coit Road. The destination will be located on your right.
There is parking available at the location, but it may be limited. Additional parking options are available in nearby parking lots or street parking spaces.
