I’m reaching out because I was honored to be the first ever Sparkling Ice “Cheers for Heroes” National Winner for the work I do in my community, particularly helping those experiencing homelessness.

I was told that if I ever had a community need, I should reach out and right now, I have a very personal one. My hometown of Gary, Indiana, is experiencing a serious crisis, with parts of the community reportedly being without electricity for more than 11 days. My own mother is a resident there, and families are struggling without reliable access to food, water, and basic necessities. Unfortunately, this crisis has received very little media attention.

I’m asking if Sparkling Ice would consider donating pallets of water or Sparkling Ice beverages to help the residents of Gary during this difficult time. I’m not asking for myself, I’m trying to coordinate resources for the community that raised me.

Part of the reason I dedicate myself to helping others is because I know what it feels like to struggle. I’m from Gary, Indiana, and I was once a homeless kid myself. Giving back to communities in need is deeply personal to me.

If there is any way or anyone who knows someone at Sparkling Ice that can help, even by connecting me with the right person or department, I would be incredibly grateful.

Yesterday, I had the true privilege of sitting down with , a gospel artist and my fraternity brother, and the words he poured into me touched my heart in a way I can’t fully explain. It was exactly what my spirit needed, right on time, like a moment that was already written and waiting for us to step into it.
I’ve been asking God for clarity, for a sign, for confirmation in my life, and in that hour, through conversation and prayer, I felt seen, heard, and covered. It brought a level of comfort and peace to my heart that words alone could never repay.
So the only way I know how to say thank you is through my gift.
