You guys have seen Rocco grow throughout the years as the youngest of our small family business. Since the age of 2 he has helped us get to where we are today: peeling tomatillos, capping off bottles, greeting customers, and pretty much anything else Cita and I ask for with one simple shout “Roooocco!” Now he’s 17 and heading into his senior year and we want to help him with his dream of traveling to China this summer with his Destination Imagination team. They worked hard all year on their project and made it to state. Now they have the amazing and rare opportunity to travel to China to meet and learn with other DI teams around the world. We need $15,000 to get food and lodging for 8 kids during their 10 day stay. Sure, there’s a popcorn fundraiser coming up, but Momma and Cita are going to do what we do best; HUSTLE, SALSA, REPEAT! So the rest of this month we are donating a portion of our sales every day and ALL TIPS received in May will go to help give these hardworking kids a once in a lifetime experience they can cherish forever. So, the next time you visit our store, shop online, choose us for your catering, or come out to the farmers market know that your purchase is doing double good….good at satisfying your tastebuds and good at helping others.

I think we can all agree that it’s been quite a year so far with many challenges and heartaches along the way. But despite all of them we still have so much to be grateful for. To all of you who have cheered us along, reminded us we’re not alone, and have continued to show up and support your local small businesses through it all, thank you. We are incredibly blessed to be a part of a wonderful community of local makers and surrounded by awesome neighbors who share their dinner tables and gatherings with us throughout the year. We came home from mckinneyfarmersmarket last Saturday with some amazing local tomatoes from our friends at canticlefarmtexas . We all had tomato soup at the top of our list and it is delicious! Stop in for yours today at the kitchen
