Japanese restaurants are known for their attention to detail, use of fresh ingredients, and dedication to traditional techniques. Tei-An on Routh Street in Dallas embodies all of these qualities and more. This authentic Japanese Soba House is home to Chef Teiichi Sakurai's brilliant Omakase, which is a must-try for any food enthusiast.
One of the standout features of Tei-An is their commitment to sourcing the highest quality ingredients. From the soba noodles made in-house daily to the fresh seafood flown in from Japan, every dish is crafted with care and precision. The menu offers a range of options, from small plates like the delicate uni shooter to heartier dishes like the wagyu beef tataki.
But what truly sets Tei-An apart is their dedication to showcasing unique experiences for their guests. Recently, they hosted a special omakase dinner with Richard Geoffroy, founder of IWA Sake. This event featured rare cuvées from Dom Pérignon selected by Richard himself, paired with a five-course omakase dinner prepared by Chef Sakurai.
Tei-An's philosophy extends beyond just their food - they also embrace mindfulness and living in the present moment. As they say on social media, "At the end of the day, Tei-An is soba. Tomorrow, soba. At the beginning of the day, Tei-An is soba. Yesterday, soba." This focus on being present and mindful translates into an overall dining experience that feels both serene and indulgent.
Overall, Tei-An is a standout Japanese restaurant that should not be missed when visiting Dallas. With exceptional food and unique experiences offered regularly, it's no wonder this spot has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
