Meet our Spotlight Teacher, Jennifer!
"I am Jennifer, and after completing my 20th year teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with dyslexia at Houston Middle School, I remain just as passionate about helping students succeed as I was during my first year. Building strong relationships with my students is at the heart of what I do, and I am honored that they trust me enough to share their struggles, successes, and dreams. Many of my students face challenges both in the classroom and at home, and I believe every one of them has a unique purpose and potential. Funding would allow me to purchase essential resources such as headphones to support accommodations and fidget tools to improve focus and engagement. These materials would make a meaningful difference by helping my students overcome obstacles, build confidence, and achieve greater success both academically and personally."

"Hi there! I teach 7th and 8th grade Art and a $250 amazon gift card would allow many new options for tools and supplies in my classroom! I see around 140 students each day, so even the smallest price tag for supplies adds up quickly to have enough for everyone! In such a digitally filtered world, I strive to provide a safe and creative environment where my students can learn to express who they are in different ways. My favorite part of every project we do is when we start something new and my students say "I can't do that", then by the end of the project they are invested and doing amazing work that they are surprised by and proud of!!"
