A false and damaging post has been circulating Country Club Cafe. I’ve stayed quiet out of professionalism — but when lies start hurting our reputation and misleading our community, I have to speak up.
🔹 Here are the facts:
• Iced Tea: It’s our standard closing procedure that servers are responsible for discarding tea every night. That’s always been the policy. Ask any of our long-time team members.
• Fruit Prep: Our fresh fruit is prepared once a week and stored following strict food safety standards. The individuals making claims about our kitchen practices have never been involved in them and are speaking without firsthand knowledge.
• Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes: The recipe has not changed. It’s been consistently prepared the same way by the same chefs who’ve been here for nearly a decade.
• Drink Refills: We have never charged for refills. We simply asked our servers to track how many were given, to help with inventory — nothing more.
• Soda Pricing: Our sodas are priced at $3.50 — which is completely standard for full-service restaurants. It’s misleading to suggest otherwise.
• Seasoning: I’m proud of the flavor we put into our food. Anyone curious about it is welcome to come in and taste it for themselves.
• Employee Contracts: Our contracts state that any overtime must be pre-approved by management — a legal and standard policy across the restaurant industry.
🔹 Staffing Decisions:
• One chef was let go after repeated tardiness and no-call/no-shows that disrupted service.
• A server was terminated for taking a job with a competing cafe one block away while continuing to work here without disclosure. That’s not acceptable in any business.
These were professional decisions made to protect the restaurant and the team — not personal attacks.
I take pride in running this business with honesty, consistency, and care. I won’t let gossip define who we are.
If you’ve been a customer before, you already know what we’re about. If you haven’t — come find out for yourself.
🥞 And to make it even sweeter:
Anyone who mentions this post during their visit will receive free pancakes of their choice — on the house.
I’m not scared of my identity because I have evidence behind me. I ask anonymous to come forth for their claims and show this contract where over time is not paid.
I will remind the poster who is spreading misinformation that defamation has real and legal consequences.
