The Texas Nail has been part of Slow Bone's story from the beginning, earning a reputation one bite at a time. Its combination of prime brisket, roasted chiles, smoked mushroom duxelle, melty cheddar, and jalapeño BBQ sauce helped set the tone for what guests could expect from our kitchen: bold flavors, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a willingness to do things a little differently.
It's also the sandwich that helped earn Jeffery the title of "Congressman of Flavortown." 🍔
Years later, it's still one of our most beloved menu items.
Not because it's famous...because it's that good.

Our hand pie flavors rotate throughout the year based on what's fresh & in season. Right now, we're featuring Apple Cinnamon: a timeless favorite with just the right balance of sweet, spice, and comfort.
Before long, blackberry season will be here, bringing a new round of flavors to our kitchen.

Summers in Texas call for ice-cold drinks, trips to the lake beach (nailed that one, SNL), and BIG portions of BBQ. We’ve got that last one covered!
The name alone explains it all: The Pork-A-Holic 🐷🍔
Eve Loaf, Bali Bacon, & pulled pork stacked high and topped with melted Swiss cheese, apple slaw, & Shiner Bock whole grain mustard aioli.

If you prefer public transport, you can take a bus that stops at a nearby stop or take the train to the West End Station and walk from there. The Slow Bone has garnered mixed reviews in the recent past, according to newspaper reviews. A review from The Dallas Morning News praised The Slow Bone's sauce and meat, although it criticized its ribs and sides. This review was published in July 2019.
