Meet our Spotlight Teacher, Melissa!
"Hello, My name is Melissa and I have been a 4th grade Language Arts teacher at Shawnee Trail Elementary in Frisco for the past two years. I am blessed by an opportunity to move down to 2nd grade at STE this upcoming school year. I am excited to be teaching the younger kids and getting the chance to teach all subjects. STE is a Title 1 campus on the east side of Frisco, where the population includes new English Language Learners. Being a Title 1 campus also means that some of our parents have a harder time being able to contribute to extra classroom supplies. I would use the $250 to help buy extra supplies for the students that are unable to afford them. I would also like to be able to purchase a color printer for the classroom, since our campus printing budget is not very much. The classroom printer would also allow for more immediate color printing needs. This would be a great benefit for the classroom. Thank you for your support!"

"My name is Jennifer, and I teach Technology and Career Pathways for grades K–5 at Leadership Prep School Majestic Gardens, where I create authentic learning experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world careers. Our classroom is located in the open library, where students collaborate, create, and explore future career pathways through hands-on projects. I would love to introduce podcasting to help students develop professional skills such as research, interviewing, scripting, recording, editing, and publishing while sharing their voices with an authentic audience. Podcasting builds confidence, communication, creativity, leadership, and teamwork—skills that will benefit students in any career they choose. The award would provide the equipment needed for students to produce news broadcasts, conduct career interviews, create marketing campaigns, and pitch Shark Tank-style inventions, transforming career exploration into meaningful real-world experiences."
