BBQ And A Prayer

God is our doorkeeper. He opens and closes the doors in our life. It doesn’t always make sense to us. He numbers our days. Our times are in his Hands. Accept that it didn’t work out. But just because one dream dies, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t have another dream. Losing a job, a relationship, a loved one, that doesn’t stop God’s purpose for your life. Your destiny is not in what you’ve lost; it’s in what you have left. But here’s the key: if you focus on the loss, what didn’t work out, what they did, you’re going to get stuck. Sure, you’re going to feel that emotion, disappointment, sadness. But after you process the loss, go through the healing, your spirit is going to rise up and say, “Journey on. Move forward. Don’t stay here and mourn this any longer.” It’s a season; don’t let it turn into a lifetime.

The human part of us will be there: the grieving, the weeping, the sorrow. But can I encourage you, there’s a spirit inside you that carries the power, the fortitude, the supernatural strength that causes you to rise back up, to defy the odds, to journey on when all the circumstances tell you to settle. “Look what happened. It’s not fair. In the Scripture, when Jacob wants to sit down, Israel stands up. Jacob feels the pain, but Israel carries the promise. No weapon formed against you will prosper. There is beauty for those ashes. Jacob will try to convince you that you’re done. You’ve seen your best days. You can’t handle this. But if you’ll listen carefully, you’ll hear Israel saying, “Still I rise. Still I move forward. Still I pursue. That door closed, I’m disappointed, but I’m going to knock on another door.” That trouble should have taken your passion, your joy. But you felt a strength, a power to keep moving forward. That’s God sustaining you. That’s His Spirit causing you to overcome.

The Spirit of God will cause you to move forward, to continue on and pursue your purpose, despite what’s trying to stop you. You may be going through a tough season now. It feels overwhelming. Some people say if you have faith, you shouldn’t grieve. You shouldn’t feel the pain, feel the sadness. We’re human. Jesus wept when his friend Lazarus died. He felt sorrow and heartache. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He was so overwhelmed that He sweat drops of blood. He’s God, yet in His human body, He had these emotions. It’s not a lack of faith to feel things. That’s the natural part of us. On our own, by ourselves, we would get stuck there. When we get knocked down, we’d stay down. But here’s the good news, you can move forward while still hurting, you can trust even though there are unanswered questions, you can praise through the pain, you can speak victory in the middle of trouble.

In life, the unexpected will happen: a dream dies, a door closes, a bad medical report, a loved one doesn’t make it. We didn’t see that coming. We get knocked down. It’s easy to stay down, wonder why it happened, live defeated, give up on dreams. We were doing the right thing. Why did the wrong thing happen? “God, where were You? Why didn’t You stop this?” There will always be unanswered questions. Faith is about trusting when you don’t understand, not trying to figure everything out. Don’t put a question mark where God has put a period. He’s still in control. He’s still ordering your steps. He still has a purpose for you to fulfill.

We could sit here and tell you how good the food is... honestly....You just need to taste it. 🤤🔥

There’s a reason people come back. There’s a reason the plates get cleaned. And there’s a reason we hear “THAT was GOOD” over and over again. 😂🙌

Big John doesn’t do mediocre food. He does the kind you think about later. The kind you tell somebody else about. The kind that has you already planning when you can get it again. 😏🔥

Don’t take our word for it. Come hungry and find out for yourself.

BBQ & A Prayer ❤️🙏
Come hungry. Leave blessed.

David said to his son, Solomon, “Get to know the God of your ancestors.” There’s something about knowing those who went before you. Knowing what they accomplished, what they endured, how God stepped in and made ways and opened doors and turned situations around. In the grandstands of heaven, imagine if we could talk with these heroes of faith individually. What would they say to us? Moses is in those stands calling your name, saying you can still accomplish your dreams. You’re not too old. You haven’t made too many mistakes, gotten too far off course. God knew every wrong turn. He knew every bad decision that you would make. His mercy is bigger than those mistakes. He’s already planned your comeback. What He started in your life, He’s going to finish.

The man you said you follow, he wasn't a coward. He took a stand against those Pharisees, those Sadducees, those rulers of the day. They tried to throw him off a cliff. He walked right through them, couldn't shut him up. Like, what good is it in a prophetess if we keep dancing in rooms like this and all of the territory outside this door is being hijacked? You a fighter. If you got the Holy Spirit in you, you're not a coward. Afraid of what? The Lord said, Don't fear no man. In fact, don't even fear people that take your life. You think, you think genocide in Nigeria is gonna stop the kingdom? Think threats against my life is gonna keep me quiet? Peter said all of this is gonna burn up. All of it's gonna be dissolved, and the only thing that's gonna remain is what we have done for Christ. When we get to glory, he ain't gonna need your sermons. This is the hour to preach. This is the hour to spread the gospel. This is the hour to pray. This is the hour to take a stand for biblical Christianity. This is the hour to evangelize. This is the hour to be serious about your walk in the kingdom. This is the hour to be gangster in the kingdom. This is the hour to be thuged out for Christ. This is the hour to give your life for the gospel and the cause for that. We ain't trying to hold on to nothing, not even our own life. This is the hour to say, Christ, for you I live and for you I die. But not on my watch. This house, devil, you have no authority here. I run every demon out of my house and out of this room. I kneel down right now and demons tremble. Not never. Not on my watch. I pray like a warrior, hopes like a warrior, walk inside the room like a warrior, preach like a warrior, write like a warrior, marriage like a warrior. Are there any warriors in the house tonight?

🚨 FEELING DEFEATED DOESN’T MEAN WE’VE BEEN DEFEATED. EARLY VOTING IS OPEN TODAY—SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, NOON–6 PM.

I know many of you are tired. Tired of questioning your property appraisal. Tired of stretching a paycheck. Tired of wondering how much more your family can afford.

I hear you. I share that frustration. Please don’t let it convince you that your voice doesn’t matter.

Through Saturday, 7,467 people voted at our two early voting locations. That equals about 11.29% of the population.

We still have six days of early voting, including today. There is time to show up in numbers.

My opposition to the proposed sales tax comes from a straightforward belief: before county leadership asks families for more money, taxpayers deserve clear records, clear spending priorities, and meaningful accountability.

Every additional dollar matters to somebody. It can mean groceries, gas to get to work, medicine, or keeping the lights on. Those sacrifices deserve respect.

Supporting our roads and first responders also means asking hard questions about how their funding will be managed. Asking for accountability is part of caring about this community.

I will keep requesting records, sharing what I can document, and speaking up. But I cannot cast your ballot for you. Imagine what we could accomplish if everyone who feels unheard decided to participate—and encouraged someone else to come along.

I’m asking you to vote NO on the proposed sales tax. Read your ballot carefully and make your decision heard.

🗳️ TODAY, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25: NOON–6 PM
🗳️ MONDAY–FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26–30: 7 AM–7 PM

📍 Canton: Courthouse Annex, formerly the Paul Michael building
1900 N. Trade Days Blvd.

📍 Van: Van Movie House
255 W. Main St.

After church, after lunch, or when you have an opening this afternoon—please make time. Offer an eligible neighbor a ride. Call a friend. Share the voting hours.

You don’t have to agree with everything I say. But please don’t give up your opportunity to be heard.

This is our home. These are our families. And our participation can make a difference. ❤️🇺🇸

You may be going through an uncomfortable season and wondering why your situation isn’t changing. However, God wouldn’t have allowed it if He didn’t have a purpose for it. These times when you are uncomfortable are opportunities to prove to God that you’re ready to go to the next level. The reason you face difficulties is because God has an awesome future in store for you.
