With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Yvonne O’Brien. Although she’s not with us in person anymore, we feel her spirit everywhere. For those who knew Yv, you know she was a woman of faith, she loved her family fiercely, and she never met a stranger. She was an integral part of the Dream Cafe, helping out wherever she could for her husband Grady and sister-in-law Mary. Yvonne was full of joy, great ideas, and hilarious jokes. Although we miss her dearly, we are encouraged knowing she is in the place she’s always prayed for. To get to the restaurant located on Routh Street in Dallas, you can take the DART public transportation and stop at the McKinney Avenue Trolley. From there, you can walk for a few minutes towards the west and turn right onto Routh Street. Alternatively, if you are driving, take the North Central Expressway and exit at Pearl Street. Turn left onto Woodall Rodgers Freeway and then right onto Olive Street. Turn left again onto Cedar Springs Road and continue straight until you reach Routh Street where you will turn left. There are several public parking lots nearby for those who need to park their vehicles.
